G'day One and All.

Like You, I'm Sure, Life Hasn't Been a Bed of Roses.
I was kind of a shy kid in primary school. This got worse as I went through high school and I grew depressed, and intraverted. I had a mum who ran hot and cold. I'm sure she loved me but she was so moody, and I now believe she may have had an undiagnosed mental health condition. She had my wife in tears at their first meeting. It got so we dreaded going home for holidays. She got cancer and passed which left my dad in a right state and we kids worried about him heaps.
Dad was a science teacher who believed, "when I see it, I'll believe it!" After Mum went, he got all spiritual and started saying and doing stuff which seems really 'way out there'. He now beleives "when you believe it, you will see it." He remarried, and she has a very different way of looking at life than me. We had a huge argument and I have never visited them, nor they come to us since.
My pottery business never made more than a welfare payment despite my high skill level, so I angsted over not being a decent breadwinner for the whole 8 years. I could pot, but was not a salesman or marketer. Sometimes I asked myself "WHY DID I LEAVE TEACHING?" I have had 5 different types of jobs since then, so it has looked like I may never find job satisfaction.
I'm from the UK originally but am as dinki-di Australian as you'll meet having lived here since I was 12. My family travelled a fair bit. I first left Britain at age 5. I spent 2 years in what is now Kiribas, a small South Pacific Island nation, 3 years in Fiji, before the move here.
I graduated as a primary school teacher, and after 10 years doing that, I pursued my own business venture as a craftsman. After that I sold software, I drove a courier van, became management there, but as I think I can finally admit to myself, I am a people person, and took the opportunity to move into employment consultancy working with mental health jobseekers where I find immense satisfaction helping people get their lives back on track.
